Silent auction and preregistration

The silent auction will take place as a separate event on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Verizon Civic Center before the Maverick play the University of North Dakota. We have decided to try this to concentrate our volunteers on tournament day to on-ice activities only, have more room in Westwood for food service and warm-up, and we thought people who purchase items could use them for Christmas presents.

Preregistration will also be held at this time (with the $25 savings) so we can pass out registration packets which will include bracket, forms, times and other tournament information. Tournament fees are $250 for adult teams and $150 for youth teams(without the $25 preregistration special). The preregistration special will end after the silent auction, so we can get a jump on planning the brackets and start times.

Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at the civic center for the silent auction.

2011 Anthony Ford Pond Hockey Tournament

January 22, 2011 is the date that has been set for the 2011 Anthony Ford pond hockey tournament. Due to the unforeseen weather we had last year(rain in January), January 29 will be the back-up date if the original date is postponed.

We like to thank everyone for their patience last year, who would have known we would have rain in January. However, the next week, thanks to our committee, volunteers, Mother Nature and our participants the tournament was very successful. Thanks to all involved, we raised $7,300 for youth hockey scholarships for underprivileged in the Mankato area, $7,300 also went to the Therapeutic Advances in Childhood Leukemia(TACL) for research to find a cure for the kind of cancer Anthony had. We also have the same amount dedicated for future hockey needs that will improve youth hockey in the Mankato area.
